The main ingredients in this dish – broccoli slaw, mushrooms, and beef – are often used in Asian-style dishes with savory or sweet sauces. In this recipe I wanted to play it a little different. I tossed the ingredients in simple sauce of heavy cream flavored with garlic and onion. The result is a creamy, savory dish that is satisfying without being too heavy.

I use broccoli slaw a lot for my keto lifestyle. It works great as a low carb side dish and has great macros. It also has a texture and durability that holds up to a fair amount of cooking. That means you can use it with a variety of sauces and cooking styles.
Picking The Right Beef
Almost any cut of beef will work for this recipe. A ribeye or top sirloin would be my first choice, but there are many budget cuts that will work well too. This Creamy Beef Mushroom and Broccoli Slaw Stir-Fry is just one way I like to prepare a nice piece of beef.
Creamy Beef Mushroom and Broccoli Slaw Stir-Fry
Equipment

Ingredients
- 1 lb Beef Top round, ribeye, or sirloin
- 15 oz Broccoli Slaw
- 12 oz Sliced Mushrooms
- 1 tsp Pink Salt
- 1 tsp Black Pepper
- 1 tsp Red Pepper Flakes optional
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 1 cup Heavy Cream
- 2 tbsp Avocado Oil or use your favorite oil
Instructions
- Slice Beef into 2-inch strips and sprinkle with about half of the salt and pepper
- Brown Beef on medium high heat in about a tablespoon of oil, then transfer to a bowl and set aside
- Saute the mushrooms in the remaining tablespoon of oil until golden brown
- Add the Broccoli Slaw and saute until just heated through (this allows the broccoli to stay crisp)
- Add the heavy cream and the remainder of the seasonings. Let simmer until heated through and thickened
- Add beef and toss with the vegetables and sauce
- Serve immediately or portion for meal prep
